Sorry I am just now posting about our wonderful trip home, but Jason takes the computer to his new office now so I do not have it at home with me! (good but bad at the same time) So...
Over memorial weekend we made our first trip with Riehl back to the Midwest! Riehl was so good on the plane even though it was hot as ever the day we left (97 degrees). He slept for about 3/4s of the plane ride. People even commented how wonderful he was. YEAH, go Riehl. We arrived rather late at night, but the Hilliard/Strzelec family was waiting to meet the little man. He was able to see grandma Hilliard again and meet great grandma and grandpa Strzelec and great aunt barb and uncle mark. I think they all fell in love with him right away!
Friday night Pauline had ALL the play group over for some pizza and to meet Riehl. He was a hit for sure, but man did it wear him out! All the ladies wanted to love on him and let me tell you, he got A LOT of love. It was great to see everyone and share our joy with them. Saturday we made a pool day at Olympia Fields Country Club. Riehl slept most of the time we were there, probably due to having such an eventful Friday night! He was able to meet Aunt Brooke who ventured from the city just to meet him. He LOVED the pool and probably could have stayed in there all day! Grandma Hilliard babysat for us that evening so Jason and I could celebrate our 3rd anniversary. We went downtown to dinner at Vivo with our friends Matt and Amanda. It was a bittersweet trip to the city... Sunday we went to the lake. My parents met us there to spend a little time together as a combined family:) We then ventured to my CUZ sarah's house to meet my side of the family, but Riehl decided to sleep the WHOLE time we were there. It was at least great for me to see my family anf for Riehl to meet his other great grandma, grandma may (he was awake for this picture, just as we were leaving!). Monday was not so nice, it rained...odd! We stopped by my families house again for a bit (and got to meet Jessica, the soon-to-be mommy) then ventured back to say good-bye to uncle Jeff and Angela. Jason and I actually decided to extend the trip one more day, so Tuesday we went back to the pool to hang out before our flight. Overall, we had a great time seeing everyone and having Riehl meet "his family". (I know if something happened to us, the play-group would be family to him). He was spoiled for sure!! Here are a few pictures of Riehl meeting everyone! Thanks Pauline for bringing us home!!!
